First Final Fantasy I ever played was 7, I was in 8th grade back in those days. Bought it for PC and loved every bit of it. I never played 8 mainly because I didnt have a playstation, and by the time it came out on PC I heard it wasnt good and I played 9 on the playstation I bought lol.

I bought a PS2 about two months back mainly because I always wanted to play X, X-2, and Kingdom Hearts. I played kingdom hearts first, and after I completed that game fully I moved on to FF X.

What can I say, FF X was great. I loved Auron because he seemed like that mentor that just kicks ass. Tidus was great too, just because he seemed so lost and helpless, but always tried to help in whatever way he could. Yuna was an awesome character too for the same reason Tidus was. All the other characters were great too. I was addicted to this games sphere grid system. At first when I saw my friend playing it seemed confusing. Once you play though you realize just how customized you can make characters.

X-2 was a dissapointment. The way they changed Yunas quiet and strong willed character, to some britney spears RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO wannabe was just awful. I played it for about 2 hours and was sick of it. I honestly feel like im missing out on the story of characters I cared about in X by not playing it.

VII was awesome because of the way the plot developed. One minute you are off to stop a corporation from sucking the earth dry. The next a rival from the past threatens life existance. The way Clouds memories were all clouded with sephiroths past was bad ass, and the first time I played and realized that I was floored. Sure we all can not relate to Clouds insanity, but the basic ideas of what was happening around him made us care for him.

IX was a game I never thought I would pick up, but boy am I glad I did. Sure it was not as "real" as maybe the others. It got back to the FF roots. Its story may seemed a bit kiddyish to most, but it was just so much fun I could not stop playing it. Stealing the princess from an evil queen, gathering your small army of misfits, and the characters learning to believe in themselves was great! If you have not tried this one I would recommend it.

I know im probably going to get flamed for this but I liked FF Crystal Chronicles. Me and a group of friends actually got together quite often to play it together. The whole teamwork with the gb's and using the maps given was really fun. Unlocking all the items was addicting, and the last boss battle was something to behold. There were some annoyances like, no story, and that stupid chalice you had to carry around. Plus the single player was awful, playing alone just was not fun. When I did have my three friends though playing with me we were always laughing and having a good time. We were dissapointed to hear that FF:CC was cancelled on the DS, wifi with that would have been amazingly addicting, although the project did get turned into FF 3.

I have a Nintendo DS and im looking forward to the FF 3 remake and FF 4 advanced just came out so im gonna go pick that up soon. Also dawn of souls which is one and two came out a while back and I figured I would pick those up soon too.

FF XI PC was alot of fun too, but not too much into that because it doesnt count for this forum. Played the demo of 12 and took a while to get into the controls but I felt right at home playing that because of my many hours on FF XI.

Obviously Tactics beats them all ! Talk about a twisted plot. Maybe not the best tactical ever but good enough to keep any player hooked for hundreds of hours.

But I recognize FF VI is a wonderful runner up. Still have to find that amazing feeling of freedom in another FF. Not to mention that Kefka is really badass for a baddy buddy.

FF VII comes really close though. Perfect darkish ambiance coupled with cloudy characters = <3 for fangirls and fanboys. Materias and limit breaks were fun as hell to master and sidequests came as the cherry>
FF VIII was a HUGE disappointment. Never got into the story, never felt concerned with that cast of spoiled little brats (can you say amoebamensionnal 'hero'?), never enjoyed the tedious stealing system. Luckily the soundtrack and the card-game saved it...

Yes! That had to be one of the greatest experiences ever! It was actually kind of funny that they never really mentioned that feature pretty much anywhere, you just had to kind of figure it out.
